Agate and Fossil Hunting on Lake Pepin

As we drive into the park, we always pause to see what may be hanging around the swampy area. This day we saw the blue heron, who apparently did not care to be photographed.

A bit of algae on these turtles!

Beautiful green heron

Margaret says the green heron is very prehistoric looking.

I'm planning to be in Red Wing, MN for 4 days and saw your pictures of agate and fossil hunting on Lake Pepin. Can you give me any directions or areas to search? Lake Pepin looks to be pretty big. Would appreciate it. Thank you.
