Audilee Taylor Steffens 1921-2011

My beautiful grandmother is no longer of this earth. Our family
gathered last Wednesday to say a collective goodbye in the traditional sense.
While she was nearing her 90th birthday, her death was still a shock to so many
who have loved her for so long. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life.

This photo is from October 1990

Polar Plunge

"Winterfest" weekend is highlighted by the polar plunge on Sunday afternoon. We got there early this year so we could be in the front row.
Some of the brave plungers. Some jumped for fun and some to raise money.
One lady had it on her bucket list, and one brave soul was from Florida.
One gentleman was from New Hampshire and jumped in polar plunges
all over the U.S.

These belly flops got some applause!

These snow shelters were built on the ice by local Boy Scouts who
spent the night in them. The leader stayed in the tent.

Sand Point Hike

Sand Point is a gorgeous groomed state park hiking trail. Friday we finished
school by 2:00 so we took advantage of the glorious weather.

Part of the hiking trail is raised due to it being susceptible to flooding.

Out meandering on the frozen Lake Pepin.

It is so vast and peaceful out on the lake!

As usual, they are WAY ahead of me!
