Greta examining a sculpture inside Glacier Park Lodge. The timbers used to build
this lodge are over 500 years old. The lodge was built in 1913 for railroad workers. It was
really amazing to see this place!

I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but I think it
is some kind of woodpecker. It was quite large.

These are some of my favorite photos of the trip. These were taken along
the "Going to the sun road" at Lake McDonald. It was unfortunate for us
that the road was closed for construction for the week we were there!!!!!
We were only allowed in 16 miles on the west side.

Lake McDonald in the largest lake in Glacier National Park. It is ten
miles long, 1 and1/2 miles across and 472 feet deep. It is also very
cold this time of year!

Inside Lake McDonald Lodge...nice name for a dining room!

The lodge fireplace was huge with a very hot fire!!!!

Mule deer in Glacier Park. Three of these crossed in front of our car so we
had a great photo opportunity.

We took a boat tour of Lake McDonald in Glacier. The boat
was 80 years old. Beautiful views and lots of narrated history.

This is where the "Robert Fire" burned 40 acres in
the park in 2006. The fire was so named because it was
discovered and reported by a camper writing a letter to
his father, whose name was Robert.
