Road Trip. Cannon Falls and Northfield.
First stop. Cannon River Winery to see the Sixth Street Trio perform.
Then on to Northfield for a bit of shopping and touring. This store, The Measuring Cup is every cooks DREAM! Le Creuset, All Clad, Vitamix, everything one could imagine! Heaven!
I like Northfield a LOT.
This is the bank robbed by Jessie James and the Younger gang in 1876.
Of course this place merited a visit.
An awesome antique store where Maggie found a vintage dress.
A must stop for every teen girl with money in her pocket.

On the way home.
On the way home, we stopped to admire these Belted Galloway, which is a heritage breed of beef cattle, often nicknamed Oreo cows for obvious reasons.

Hiking at Sand Point Frontenac State Park
Was not expecting this sign as the boardwalk typically floods in spring, and the water is currently not high. We didn't take this, our usual trail.
On the return, we tried to find the boardwalk only to learn that it had been removed, and the trail no longer maintained. This was the only bit of it that we found.
It looks to me that it will not be repaired and/or replaced. So many memories and great hikes here!

We used to love this trail in the spring, when the area was filled with water. We braved the hordes of mosquitos to walk the boardwalk. Here is an older video.
