Our week

Our raspberries are ripe....the girls picked loads of them.
and we made yummy raspberry smoothies.

Found a new Lake Superior agate book at the library, very comprehensive...I already went to EBAY and bought my own copy.

We had school for 2.5 days. Both girls are about 1/4 done with their next year math books....I LOVE being a bit ahead as it gives us a lot of freedom...

We made this gingerbread that my mom and Gram used to make.

and served it with cream cheese and a warm lemon sauce....yum!

Camping & Tubing on the Zumbro River

Reads Park in Millville is just ten dollars a night to camp in. There is no running water except for the Zumbro River just a stones throw from your tent. Reads Park is named after Charles Read, founder of Millville. Reads Landing also bears his name. When the first post office was established in 1867, Charles Read was the postmaster out of his home.

Tubing from Hammond right down to our campsite. We rented our tubes from Zumbro River Ratz. They also other rentals available. Reasonably priced, convenient, and very nice people!http://www.zumbroriverratz.com/

A local gentleman who had heard there were children camping, brought over his horse and gave the girls a ride.

The oldest stone Swedish Evangelical church still standing in Minnesota founded in 1869. Millville used to be called Long Creek.
