Hiking with Gram

This is at Hok-Si-La Amphitheater which was built by Boy Scouts
over 40 years ago.

It is sad to see it deteriorate. Some kids worked so hard to build this.

The stones that used to surround the fireplace.

They thought they saw something move in there.

Marge is pointing to a gopher hole.

Library Home School program

Our local library has implemented a program for home educators entitled
"Road Trip" Each week the children learn about a different state.
This week it was Alaska

Library dog, Booker

Our library is small but a referendum is on the November ballot for a new library.

Alaska is the "Moose State" so the girls are eating chocolate Mousse

making a moose
Although my girls are a bit old for this, they enjoyed it, and learned a bit. Nice to meet other parents and children. The director is trying to make the program fit all ages, which I can imagine, would be a challenge!

Miller Creek

The girls discovered this spot while we were waiting for a train
with vintage carriages.
It is gorgeous and secluded

Great spot for photos
water was cold, but they did not care!

Vintage railway carriages

Amtrak locomotive with vintage carriages and three Amtrak Heritage carriages. This train comes through my town only once a year. Usually it has a steam locomotive.
