We use the same social studies book as our local public school. After studying Native Americans for the past few months the public school kids have a week long visit with Mr Jack Peal from an Ojibwe tribe. Mary Emeline is fortunate enough to join them this week at the school. I will post some of the photos her and Elise take.

My Mom's chicken pie

I loved this so much as a child....made it last night and behold....even the kids ate it!

saute 1/2 cup celery, 1/4 cup green pepper, and 1/4 cup onion in 3 TBSP of butter.

blend in 3TBSP of flour

add 1and 1/2 cup chicken stock

1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning

3 cups of chicken

pour into prepared pie crust (pre baked for 10 minutes at 400)

top with dressing:

4 slices of bread

1/3 cup melted butter

salt and pepper

poultry seasoning

bake at 350 for 15 minutes...

Simple and YUMMY!!!!!!!
